Breaking Dawn (2011)
Directed: Bill Condon

Despicable Me 2 (2013)
Directed: Pierre Coffin, Chris Renaud
As this is a childrens film the teaser trailer shown is relatively simple and with comedic elements to appeal to younger children. It shows a group of 4 creatures, with alien like qualities whoch shows the fantasy and unrealistic nature of the movie. The music used is diagetic from the 4 characters all sequenced to sing in harmony, with notes added as the trailer progresses. This whistle blower comes forward out the screen to jump out at the audience but with comedy values not to scare the audience. The characters are featured in a white room which then excentuates the bright yellow colour of their bodies and all seen in uniform. Then a dramtic punch by one of them causes there to be silence from the aliens. A large '2' is shown to adertise it to be the sequel, that would allow the audience to relate it to the previous film.
Larry Crowne (2011)
Directed: Tom Hanks
Larry Crowne is an indie film about a middle-aged man who loses his job. He then re-joins college to change his life.
Larry goes to East Valley Community College, to re-invent himself. The music in the background switches to a very upbeat track (Hey, soul sister-Train) and the lighting is very bright, this connotes that things are looking up. This music starts straight after he gets fired from his job, this is no coincidence.
He then meets a young lady from his college who helps him to change his appearance and pick him up from his recent disappointment at his work. He thinks changing his appearance my help him to get his new Public Speech teacher. There are a lot of shots with no dialect mainly just shots of people's expressions and actions. This is to get a better effect on the audience as well as show how much Larry Crowne has an affect on people.
There is a lot of changing angles and mainly close ups of the expressions on people's face. This is apparent mainly in Julia Robert's character whenever Larry(Hanks) is talking. It is obvious to the audience that Hanks and Roberts will get together at the end of the film. The fast transitions between shots and upbeat track shows that this is a feel good film and this is very apparent from the expressions. The trailer ends with a long shot of Hanks and Roberts on his scooter, an adorable end to the this cute and simplistic trailer.
What I enjoyed about this trailer was the change of shots and angles and how it went from light to dark very quickly to add more of a sense of time flying by and how quickly they (Hanks and Roberts) started to like each other. I learnt that to show time going by quickly it is good to have lots of short shots and moving from light to dark. However, I also learnt that music can help the audience understand what genre the film is.
